LINk Board
We are run by a LINk Board, which is made up of no less than six and no more than 18 members. Seven people represent one of the seven districts in the County and eight represent specific communities of interest such as; young people, disabilities and carers. This model was chosen because it includes both individuals and representatives of local groups but also it reflects the diversity and geography of Leicestershire. In addition a Chair and two Vice Chairs are elected by all the LINk Members. The Board can also co-opt up to three members.
The LINk Board is responsible for all decisions relating to how the LINk works and for supporting groups to carry out the work, especially on specific areas of health & social care.
The role of the Board is to:
- Organise the way in which the LINk works
- Monitor the progress of the LINk Work Programme
- Supervise the allocation & distribution of financial resources
- Approve reports produced by groups on behalf of the LINk
- Communicate with the local council, health trusts and care provider organisations
- Make references to Overview & Scrutiny Committees (OSC)
- Producing Financial Reports
The Board has the power to discuss and recommend governance arrangements to the membership in a general meeting. The Board meets every month and all meetings are held in public.
The Board is responsible for all of the decisions relating to how the LINk works, including:
- Ensuring the Work Plan is carried out and monitored
- Setting policies and procedures
- Ensuring local people’s views are represented and considered
- Producing and publishing the Annual Report
- Working with the Host organisation staff team to ensure they are able to progress the work agreed
